So the Keegan Saga rumbles on.
And the new owners of Man City reckon they will make a bid of £130million-odd for Ronaldo in January. Which only goes to prove where all the money the profiteers are making from the current fuel price is going. Nice to know it isn't be wasted.
Oh and Alan Curbishley has resigned from West Ham for pretty much the same reason as Keegan has got the hump at Newcastle - that he only picks the team, he doesn't manage the club. And it's a matter of some debate if in the continental system the manager even does that - since the manager is pretty much resigned to a middle management role, where he carries the can when things go badly, and idiots praise the system when it goes well.
In other news, the mysterious parcel has been returned to me - so I figure it is mine to keep. Apparently it wasn't claimed, so the post office gave it back to me.
Which is nice - since I did rather want some Grave Guard, but rather baulked at the price (even second hand).
I am a little puzzled about the exact legal position - since I am assuming this is the result of an ebay auction - and whether or not I should treat it as a gift. After all I have returned it - or tried to return it.
I suppose I will just have to wait and see.
Oh and I am in trouble. Because I let piglet have some on my Orange Maid.
Apparently citrus fruits is one of the potential allergens that one need sot be careful about with small children - I'm sorry if that sounds a little politically correct (rather like young adults - eugh!) but I don't really think of piglet as a baby anymore.
Indeed I found myself wondering where the time has gone, and what became of the baby that used to sleep a lot and didn't have much to say for itself.
Anywho....
First the good news. Piglet loved the ice lolly - though was a little surprised at first due to the ice - and it was as much as daddy could do to get a lick himself, so voracious was piglet's desire.
And yes piglet did have a bit of a sugar rush - though not too much, as Orange Maid's have 60% fruit juice (according to the packet) - which was my defence when the missus started on about not giving piglet citrus fruit - at which point I changed tack and played down the fruit content, and played up the junk food sugary goodness.
Though I am pleased to say thast as yet there has been no sign of any ill effects or reactions.
Oh and I am also in trouble because apparently piglet looks at me in an adoring way - that is not reciprocated with mummy.
To be honest I haven't noticed this, I see it more as a mutual admiration society - and if the truth be known there are as many paddy's, grumps and sulks during daddy time as there during mummy time.
Quite what I am meant to do about this, I am not sure. And let's face it the reason is pretty simple - daddy's don't provide milk, and don't tend to be so permanently knackered as mummys - so mummys don't notice that they get admiring looks just as much.
Though perhaps the reason has something to do with daddy letting piglet have a lick on his lolly, or feeding him bananas, or the fun time we have when we are out and about with sling. Ok, it isn't everybodies idea of fun walking down the street singing Nelly the Elephant, or playing the kissing game - this is a new game, in which daddy alternately kisses each cheek, with the twist that sometimes there is a raspberry instead of kiss - we played it for about ten minutes straight this afternoon while I was trying to distract piglet from picking up forbidden stuff - like knitting needles, computer cables, the laptop, or fiddling with the radiator. By the end of the game piglet was shrieking with laughter, and even trying to do the same to daddy - with the result that the front of daddy's T-shirt was soaked in drool.
Oh and I thought we had the frist sign of teeth today. But it turned out to be a piece of chewed paper that had stuck to piglet's gum.
Oh and we have got the issue of Christmas present pretty much sorted out. Apart from bananas and Orange Maid lolly's - but apparently definitely not daddy's Choco Flakes (they are teeth meltingly good) - all we need to get is a few cardboard boxes and some sheet of paper - the crinklier the better and piglet will play for hours.
peace:)
